Are There any prizes for people who do additional canvasing to raise funds?

In regards to the fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, Yes.  We will
have game bonuses awarded to those who raise additional funds.  Things like
free hits, throw in front of the attack line  and extra games.  More details will
be given as soon as we add a link to download fundraiser canvassing sheets
from the Canadian Cancer Society.

Is there a DodgeBall League in London?

The winning teams will be presented with medals.
There is a prize awarded to the 1st and 2nd
place teams and 3rd for Tournaments.
These awards will vary from each Tournament and League.
We will also have an award for best team uniform/theme and sportsmanship.

Do I need to sign up early or can I sign up on game day?

You do need to sign up early.  Generally 1 week prior to the event is the last day to register.
Plus  you can save yourself up to $100.00 by signing up early.
In addition to that we offer cash prizes to those who sign up early.

If we have more people than expected we may not be able to guarantee
them entry into the game.  If we know earlier we can have the right number
of courts and officials available.

What charity is Dodge'N the Cause for?

All net proceeds from Dodge'N the Cause will be going towards
the Canadian Cancer Society.  We'll be setting up a commitee in March
to help organize this event.

What if I can't throw?

Just remember the 5 D's of DodgeBall.  Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge.
If you're not comfortable throwing you can pass the ball off to a team member.

How many games will we be playing?

Are we guaranteed a certain number of games?

The number of teams participating will determine the number of matches
being played.  Each match is 12-15 minutes in length.  Each team will have
at least 4 matches.
Those teams that make it into  the finals will have additional game play.

What if we have more than 10 (12) people?

6 to 12 people is the allowable number.  If you have more then 12, register a 2nd team.
When you register a 2nd team or refer a team you get $20.00 off your registration.
That's a $20.00 savings.  Keep in mind when setting up a 2nd team it's best to have
at least 8 people.   With only 6 you'll have no subs and will tire quickly.
Plus not everyone always makes it on game day.
If you don't meet the minimum team requirements you will be automatically
disqualified without refund.

Does it hurt when you get hit?

No.  The our dodge balls are foam balls with a vinyl coating.
Even if you’re hit at close proximity there’s very little impact.

What sort of clothes do I wear?  Do I need protective equipment?

Generally you’ll want to wear the same clothes you would exercise in.
Something breathable that you won’t overheat in.  Proper footwear is important.

A court shoe is ideal.  None marking soles are required for all indoor events.
We don’t recommend a boot with a deep tread.  As for personal protective equipment.
A jock or a jill is a nice added feature but is not necessary.
Some people like knee or elbow pages.
Depends on how hard you’re going to play.

Why do we have to have 2 girls on the team?

Each team must have at least 2 people of each sex.

This promotes a more open playing environment and encourages
more people to play.  Besides that  we had quite a few girls that really kicked butt!!

Do I have to be in good shape?

No.  Being in good shape may help though.
The nice thing about this game is that people generally don’t play dodgeball
regularly so everybody’s skill level will be equal.
